"COOKERY" cooking lessons, provided by POLO/OWWA, Macao

"COOKERY" cooking lessons, provided by POLO/OWWA, Macao

In August, 2016 a number of interested Filipinos have joined in the free training course provided by POLO/OWWA in partnership with Caritas Macao.

The training was designed to provide skills to Filipinos in Macao in particular to those OFWs who wish to improve in their cooking.

Some Filipinos have noted that the pressure of working as a domestic helper is greatly attributed to their ability to be creative in the kitchen. This includes, planning meals for the family, budgetting and creating/cooking dishes appetizing to both children and adults.

Our Philippine government has always considered these issues and circumstances, OFWs around the world undergo every day of their lives. In order to meet-in with the needs of OFWs in Macao,   POLO/OWWA has continuously been providing skill-based trainings, seminars and classes.

One of the trainings was the "cookery", a cooking lesson given to interested Filipino individuals in Macao. The training aims to provide not only knowledge, experience and pratical hands-on cooking but also to help ease in the "boredom" and "homesickness" many if not all OFWs are experiencing.

Some of the participants in the training are as follows:
